NATIONAL CRIME VICTIMS’ RIGHTS WEEK
Justice for Victims. Justice for All.
April 13-19, 2008

To honor individuals who have been impacted by crime, many organizations and agencies organize ceremonies, workshops and prevention activities. The Georgia judicial circuits also plan formal and informal tributes. Although most events revolve around the actual week, the whole month is used to promote this important cause. Here are some of the scheduled events and contact information.

The purpose of this Vigil is to honor victims of crime and those who serve and protect them, including law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, search and rescue personnel, firefighters, protective services workers, child advocates, 911 operators, counselors, prosecutors, victim advocates, and all the others who selflessly work for justice. District Attorney Richard Milam and his staff will also be supporting the establishment of a HAVEN House office in Jackson to assist the victims of domestic violence, serving Butts and Lamar Counties. HAVEN House has been serving our communities for years from their location in Henry County, and they will be opening an office in Jackson in the near future.
