The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Georgia Department of Corrections, State Board of Pardons and Parole and Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council sponsored the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Ceremony on April 19, 2007 at the state capitol. In attendance were Advocates from across Georgia, Agency heads, Legislators, District Attorneys and most importantly, Individuals impacted by crime. The Honorable Sonny Perdue signed the NCVRW Proclamation and posed for pictures with honored guests, Advocates and family members. Speakers at the ceremony included Charles Tolbert, James E. Donald, Molly Perry, the Honorable Bill Hamrick, Brenda Hoffmeyer, Rick Malone and Garland Hunt. The Honored guest was Hope Hasty, a nine year old child whose life was significantly altered by crime, but she now considers herself a Survivor. Reginald Hutchinson read an inspiring poem and Wanda Trent-Phillips’ voice pierced the capitol with song.

May we all commit to move into the new year refreshed and renewed to advocate for
EVERY VICTIM, EVERY TIME.
