The Solicitor-General of Bulloch County has an opening for a Legal Secretary. The following duties are normal for this position; other duties may be required and assigned:
This position performs a variety of duties to support the function of the State Court Solicitor’s Office, including record keeping (both physical and electronic files); coordinating with attorneys and law enforcement officers to obtain and distribute necessary information for cases prosecuted by the Solicitor’s office; preparing documents and files for court sessions; attending court sessions and keeping records thereof; and providing assistance and information to members of the public, defendants, victims, attorneys, and others. This position requires skill in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and use other electronic systems.
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.

Preferred Qualifications: An associate’s degree in business or a related field and three (3) years of increasingly responsible related experience are desired (or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Preferred candidates will have a working knowledge of legal terminology. Starting pay rate is $15.07 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
