Assistant Solicitor-General
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is looking to hire a Part-Time/Time-Limited Assistant Solicitor.
The duties include : Review, investigate, prosecute or defend, and resolve criminal cases on behalf of the County or State of Georgia in an assigned legal office or County department; perform beginning level professional legal work; and may assist in cases of routine complexity. The attorney will dedicate 100% of his/her efforts to improving and increasing prosecution.
One position is to be assigned to the Traffic Division and one position is to be assigned to the Jury Division. The duties will be to review each case and make the appropriate legal decisions based upon the procedural posture of the case. Each position will be utilized to reduce the backlog where needed. The position is part-time; 24 hours a week.
Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree required; one year of experience in criminal justice, legal, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; and must possess and maintain licensure from the Georgia State Bar Association
