Deputy Clerk III

The Gwinnett Solicitor-General’s Office is currently accepting resumes for a Deputy Clerk III to work both in the State Court Trial Line Division as well as the Recorder’s Court Division. The following duties are normal for this position; other duties may be required and assigned.

Open New cases in Intake; Receives legal documents and requests such as; warrants, citations, final disposition documents, and bind overs; Researches information to complete legal documents and prepare legal descriptions, agreements, legal drafts, letters, reports, summaries and correspondence; Finalizes information/documents upon approval and maintain copies for department file and submits to appropriate parties; Creates and maintains legal files; enters information into department database; updates database; attends court calendars; Performs a variety of administrative duties; answers phone, greets clients and visitors, provides assistance.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written; must be detail-oriented; strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must; must be able to work well in a team environment, while at the same time have the ability to work independently; must demonstrate a strong sense of personal responsibility and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to serving the community and working with the public.
Employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.
