Assistant Solicitor-General
The purpose of this job is the prosecution of misdemeanor violations in the State Court of Bibb County as well as Macon-Bibb County Municipal Court. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the investigation and preparation of cases for trial, representing the State in all stages of court proceedings and performing additional tasks relating to the function of the department as assigned by the Solicitor-General.
Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited school is required.
Preferred Qualifications: While our preference is for an applicant who is already a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia, we will consider applicants who took the July 2022 Georgia Bar Exam and are awaiting results.
We are looking for a self-starter who is task-oriented with the ability to work independently and the desire to learn and grow in the profession. Applicants should have a sufficient familiarity with criminal law and procedure to perform principal duties and responsibilities. Internship, third year practice in law, law journal and/or participation in Mock Trial or Moot Court will be considered towards experience.
Salary Range: $63,353.80 Please note, this may be adjusted for applicants awaiting their Bar results.
