Assistant Solicitor-General
The Paulding County Solicitor-General’s office has an immediate opening for an Assistant Solicitor-General (ASG). An ASG prosecutes misdemeanor violations in the State Court of Paulding County. Applicants will be expected to handle all aspects of the prosecution of cases, including the filing of accusations, arraignment, discovery, motions, probation revocation hearings, trial, and appeal. ASG must show an ability to communicate and work with the public, judges, and court personnel. ASG must have adequate oral and written communication skills. Work is performed in an office setting and in a courtroom, sometimes for long periods of time. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light objects are necessary functions of the position. We will show a preference for candidates with at least one-year experience working in a prosecutor’s office. Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
Preferred Qualifications: A Juris Doctorate is required. An ASG must be a member in good with the Georgia Bar.
Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
