Conflict Case Prosecutor

The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia has three newly created Conflict Prosecutor positions to work in the legal services department and under the general supervision of the Director of Legal Services. The following requirements and duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience, preferably in the area of prosecution;
• Prior experience in prosecuting Major Felonies and Violent Crimes;
• Must be able to serve as first chair in Homicide, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Gang and Human Trafficking cases in superior and state courts across Georgia;
• The ideal candidate will be located in Middle Georgia, Columbus, or Metro Atlanta;
• Travel is required, including significant travel to Columbus, Georgia;
• Other duties may be required and assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  A Juris Doctor degree required. All applicants must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be in good standing of another state’s bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia; and be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:   Ability to work independently, complete assignments as a member of a team and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Experience using Tracker is highly preferred.
