2019 Winter Conference
The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia welcomes personnel from across the State of Georgia to the 2019 Winter Conference, which will be held at the Unocoi State Park and Lodge in Helen, Georgia. Registration will begin at 11:30 am and the conference will begin at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Topics will cover a great range of issues, such as:
- Defeating the Accidental Discharge
- Case Law Update
- Stalking
- Prosecuting Difficult Sexual Assault Cases and handling victims
- Elder Abuse Sexual Assault
- Gangs
- Wiretaps and electronic surveillance
- Investigating the use of social media
- Jury selection and jury charges in gang cases & child abuse cases
- RICO
- Legislative update
- Professionalism
- Ethics
We will also have a track including the Mandatory POST 464-5 Training for law enforcement on Thursday:
- Use of Deadly Force
- Community Policing
- De-Escalation Training

The conference will conclude at noon on Friday, January 25, 2019. Come join us for an exciting and valuable learning experience at the beautiful Unicoi State Park in Helen, Georgia.
ATTENDANCE:
Registration and attendance at this Conference is limited to attorneys and investigators who are employed by a District Attorney, a Solicitor-General, the Attorney General or a United States Attorney. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and retired prosecuting attorneys who are not engaged in the private practice of criminal law, may register and attend if space is available.
**Please note that if you attend the 2019 Winter Conference and get reimbursed, you will not be eligible for reimbursement for the 2019 Summer Conference**
Effective May 2018, reimbursement for attending PAC sponsored training events for Solicitors-General and Assistant Solicitors-General will be capped at $500 per person, per fiscal year to be applied to any single training event. Non-prosecutor staff employed by Solicitors-General will not be eligible for reimbursement.
The deadline for early registration for this course is Friday, January 4, 2019. Prior to January 4, the registration fee is $125 for prosecutor offices and $175 for non-prosecutor offices. After January 4, the fee increases to $175 for prosecutor offices and $225 for non-prosecutor offices. No exceptions will be made. YOUR REGISTRATION FEE MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 4, 2019. If your registration fee is not postmarked by January 4, your registration fee will be considered late and you will be charged the higher fee. To avoid the late fee, please consider taking advantage of paying your fee by credit card, now available online.
There will be 13 total CLE and POST hours offered for this training course including Ethics, Professionalism and Trial hours.
Please note that we do not reimburse mileage or parking to county employees.
Lodging will be offered at the Unicoi Lodge (on site), Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn. When making your reservations, please inform the hotel that you are with the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia group. Below is additional hotel information. Please remember to fill out the hotel/motel tax exempt form and bring it with you when you check in.
