The Cherokee County Domestic Violence Task Force proudly invites law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and victim advocates to attend the Below the Surface: Dealing with Trauma and Victimization in Domestic Violence Cases
This full-day of training will provide a greater understanding of the hidden complexities associated with the recognition, assessment, and documentation of strangulation cases. It will also provide an in-depth look at how perpetrators have started utilizing new technology to stalk their victims and how investigative tools can link perpetrators to their crime. Finally, participants will be introduced to the neurobiology of trauma and the impact of trauma and high-stress on memory, communication, and recall and will then be provided guidelines on how to utilize this information to obtain a better victim interview.
