Fundamentals of Prosecution Course Overview

November 8-10, 2021 in Forysth, GeorgiaHello new prosecutors! Welcome to the field and welcome to the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course. This course is specifically designed to prepare newly-hired Assistant District Attorneys and Assistant Solicitors-General to make the transition from law student to prosecutor. It is the Continuing Legal Education component of the Transition Into Prosecution program and meets all the requirements for newly admitted lawyers under Rule 8-104 of the State Bar of Georgia (Transition Into Law Practice Program). Students who attend the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course and participate in the mentoring component will acquire “the practical skills, judgment and professional values necessary to practice law in a highly competent manner” required of the public prosecutor. Registration deadline is Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12PM. There is no on-site registration.

Date & Location

The Fundamentals of Prosecution Course is scheduled to begin at 8:30AM on Monday, November 8 and will conclude at 12PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. The course will be held in Forysth, Georgia.

Lodging and Reimbursement
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation. Lodging, meals, and mileage will be reimbursed to state paid employees. Lodging and meals will be reimbursed to county paid employees. Full lodging and reimbursement information will be listed in the confirmation email.

Eligibility
Prosecutors admitted to practice in the State of Georgia on or after July 1, 2005, who are participating in the Transition Into Law Practice Program (TILLP), are required to attend Fundamentals of Prosecution as part of their mentoring plan.

The registration fee is $225.00. This fee covers both your registration fee and your CLE fees. There will be at least 12 total CLE hours offered for this training course including ethics and professionalism hours. No POST credits for this course.
