Open Records Webinar
Thursday, January 27 from 9:00am to 11:00am
Live Webinar via Zoom
Description of this Training: This training will cover the requirements of the Georgia Open Records Act. Significant time is spent on the duty to make records available, the duty to respond [the “3 day rule”], and the ability of a public agency to charge for its production of responsive records. Significant time is also spent on the types of records that are exempt from disclosure with a particular emphasis on law enforcement and prosecutorial records. A review of Georgia appellate cases interpreting various provisions of the Open Records Act is also covered.
CLE and POST
CLE: Please note the CLE credit will fall under the in-house/self-study rule. A webinar falls in the same category as a video review.
POST: We are excited to offer POST credit through webinars! In order to receive POST credit for this webinar, you must listen to the webinar live, not review the recorded version. You must sign in with your first and last name to receive credit and be present for the entire webinar. Zoom tracks your attendance.
