Court Support Supervisor

The Cobb County Solicitor General’s office is accepting resumes for the position of Court Support Supervisor.

Position Overview:

The Court Support Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of a court support unit for an assigned judicial office, ensuring efficient and effective court services. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating court operations, managing records, and providing excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise and Lead Staff: Direct, evaluate, and manage assigned staff, including hiring recommendations, performance appraisals, and employee counseling or discipline. Conduct new employee orientation and coordinate training opportunities.
• Organize and Assign Work: Prioritize and schedule work activities to meet objectives, monitor progress, inspect completed work, and provide technical expertise for complex situations.
• Coordinate Court Operations: Oversee daily operations of multiple court support units or a large court division, implement procedural changes to align with new laws, and monitor operational efficiency.
• Manage Records and Reporting: Supervise data entry into departmental databases (e.g., legal information, charges, convictions), prepare record retention schedules, coordinate storage, and approve document releases.
• Calendar Coordination: Schedule and confirm appointments, hearings, and court dates for the assigned judge, update calendars, and oversee court notice generation.
• Provide Customer Service: Answer inquiries, assist with filing documents, resolve issues related to court services, and direct customers to appropriate departments or individuals.
• Budget Assistance: Assist with preparing and administering the court division budget, monitoring expenditures for compliance.
• Special Programs: Coordinate and supervise court programs, prepare reports on activities, projects, and future court processes.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience supporting court services and programs.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in legal administration or court operations, including three (3) years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in legal case management systems (e.g., Tracker) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Tech-savvy with experience in case management and financial software systems.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents and reports.
• Experience developing structured reports for management.
• Capable of ordering office supplies and managing procurement processes.
• Familiarity with financial software for processing payments and managing transactions
