Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney
The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office is currently accepting resumes for a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney to work in its Pre-Charging Unit (PCU). PCU is where all cases begin once an arrest of a defendant has been made.
Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: handling felony cases at First Appearance, Preliminary Hearing Calendars and Superior Court Unindicted Bond Calendars; assisting the PCU Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney with training, scheduling and supervision of other attorneys in the unit, reviewing case files and ensuring that all relevant evidence has been secured, properly documented, and organized for efficient disposition of the investigation or prosecution; drafting memoranda concerning charging decisions; reviewing backlogged cases and preparing cases for indictment or accusation; presenting cases to grand juries; advising and assisting local and federal law enforcement partners on various legal issues and initiatives; negotiating with opposing counsel; reporting directly to a PCU Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney; and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be a licensed member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia; should possess five plus years of prosecutorial experience in Georgia, have some jury trial experience; must be able to multitask and work under occasionally stressful time constraints.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills; must be detail-oriented; strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must; must be able to work well in a team environment, while at the same time have the ability to work independently; must demonstrate a strong sense of personal responsibility and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to serving the community and working with the public, the courts and law enforcement.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience along with Benefits.
