Victim Witness Advocate
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is currently accepting resumes/applications for a Victim Witness Advocate in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit. This position will work closely with victims and/or witnesses of a crime to guide them through the Victim/Witness Advocacy Program.
Responsibilities include; assisting with compensation claims, victim impact statements and advising of available resources based on the Victim Bill of Rights. Knowledge of the judicial process with respect to victims’ rights and case filings; and experience working with prosecutors and law enforcement are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling or a related field and two years of experience working in criminal justice, social services, crisis intervention, or trauma and violence safety assessment and planning. Superior customer service skills, positive attitude, personal responsibility and a strong sense of responsibility to the community at large is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicant must be reliable and responsible, possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, and be a self-motivator. Applicant should be knowledgeable about the dynamics of domestic violence and have the ability to perform with a high level of confidentiality.

Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000
