First Appearance Assistant Solicitor
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is looking to hire a Part-Time Misdemeanor First Appearance Assistant Solicitor. This is a grant funded position. Your duties as an ASG may change day to day based on the needs of the office. However, the main duty is to attend First Appearance Court on Saturdays and Sunday mornings and at least 1 day during the work week. Other duties include backlog cases, arraignment, drafting accusations, motions, trial, diversion review, and drafting accusations, etc.
Anyone that we consider cannot be a Criminal Defense Attorney.
Minimum hours per week: 24-32hrs
Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree required; one year of experience in criminal justice, legal, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; and must possess and maintain licensure from the Georgia State Bar Association.
