The DeKalb Solicitor General’s Office is currently accepting resumes/applications for an Investigator who will work closely with the victim advocates and law enforcement at assigned precinct.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to: Duties for Investigator assigned to Precinct with Advocate:

Locate and contact victims, investigate crimes, travel to scene, review case files, secure and collect additional information for case purposes, contact law enforcement for additional information and prepare case for resolution. This individual will serve as a liaison between law enforcement and the Solicitor General’s Office and provide transport for cases when needed. In addition to those functions described in the Classification Specification, this individual shall meet with victims in the precinct matters as a second response to law enforcement and assist in the investigation as needed. This individual will communicate with the precinct advocate daily regarding cases and domestic violence matters. This individual will continue to train and conduct trainings regarding domestic violence investigations.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants should have a degree in criminology or criminal justice or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. A minimum of 5 years in law enforcement certification is preferred. P.O.S.T. certification and a valid driver’s license is required. Applicant should also have the ability to work in a solo capacity, flexibility to work non- traditional hours. Superior customer service skills, positive attitude, personal responsibility and a strong sense of responsibility to the community at large is preferred. All candidates are subject to a background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre- employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.

At this time, this position is a time-limited position (temporary).

Salary Range: $46,000-$68,000
