The Solicitor-General’s Office in the DeKalb County Government has an opening for a Secretary. The following duties are normal for this position; other duties may be required and assigned:

Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned crew or co-workers; confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; organizes tasks in order to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with co-workers, assists with complex/problem situations, and provides technical expertise; assists with training and instructing co-workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment; and assists with supervision of co-workers by reporting employee problems and providing input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations.
Prepares and processes a variety of legal and court documents and information; and gathers, transcribes, composes, types, reviews, and submits documentation to appropriate personnel and parties.
Monitors, tracks and maintains documentation regarding cases, status of cases, hearings, amendments to court rules, case law, etc.; tracks court documents, filings, and scheduling; follows-up on docket entries, opinions, appeals, criminal complaints, fugitive warrants, etc.; and compiles statistics and prepares related reports.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in Administrative Professional or related field; three years of experience in providing administrative support in a court or legal setting; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Salary Range: $38,000-$43,000
