Administrative Support Manager
The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a qualified and motivated Administrative Support Manager to join our team. This position serves as the primary administrative support manager to assist the Office’s General Counsel with various tasks assigned to the General Counsel / Civil Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil law, law office related supervision, administration, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent internal and external service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary person preparing and processing civil asset forfeiture complaints and notices under the supervision of legal counsel
• Review case materials and draft legal pleadings to be filed in court to initiate and prosecute civil asset forfeiture cases
• Have a working knowledge of the Georgia Open Records Act and serve as back up to the ORAR unit.
• Correspondence with law enforcement partners and able to conduct research on potential claimants using detailed law enforcement databases.
• Assist GC with targeted real estate and contract needs
• Interact with internal and external partners on cases and effectuating terms of legal documents in close supervision with the General Counsel
• Assist with effectively communicating with internal leadership, external partners regarding specific issues and tasks undertaken
• Assist GC with scheduling, tasks and proofreading legal and other correspondence.
• Able to prioritize between multiple competing tasks and work under high pressure.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and county regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of matters being handled.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice, paralegal studies, Business Administration, Business Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in clerical support or customer service in an executive or law office setting
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Civil Practice Act; the Uniform Civil Forfeiture Act and Georgia Open Records Act
• Prior experience in a government or public service setting preferred
