Deputy Assistant Solicitor-General
The Office of the Fulton County Solicitor-General is seeking a skilled Supervising Attorney who excels at leading others and navigating complex casework with confidence and clarity. Essential Functions:
- Lead, train, and support assigned staff; manage schedules, performance and workflow to ensure strong team operations.
- Oversee case assignments, provide technical guidance, and monitor progress to meet organizational goals.
- Analyze and prosecute specialized cases, including controlled substances, second-degree vehicular homicide, environmental/code enforcement matters, health code violations, and animal control ordinance violations.
- Conduct or assist with bench and jury trials, hearings, and appellate proceedings; pre-pare motions, select juries, present evidence, examine witnesses, and make sentencing recommendations.
- Investigate and prepare cases for trial; review records and evidence, interview victims and witnesses, visit crime scenes, develop case strategies, and prepare witnesses.
- Research case law and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, complaints, accusations, and discovery.
- Prepare cases for accusal and arraignment; review evidence, criminal histories, jurisdiction, and probable cause; determine appropriate charges or diversion; draft formal charges.
- Negotiate pleas and resolve cases pre trial; mediate between parties and complete restitution requests.
- Serve as liaison to victims, families, witnesses, and community partners; provide up-dates and guidance on the judicial process.
- Manage a full caseload and attend all required court appearances, hearings, and trial calendars.
- Collaborate with community partners to support justice, code enforcement, and crime prevention initiatives; participate in outreach and educational efforts.
- Communicate with defense counsel, judges, law enforcement, victims, media, and others to coordinate case activity and resolve issues.
- Process and prepare legal documentation, including reports, charging documents, motions, sentencing recommendations, and departmental records.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree required; supplemented by twelve years of experience as a practicing prosecuting attorney, including lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must be registered as a member of the Georgia State Bar Association. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Salary Range: Starting Salary/Incentives: $135,000.00 (commensurate with experience); annual bonuses with consideration for advancement every six months.
