SAKI Prosecutor

The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia is seeking an experienced SAKI Prosecutor. Under limited supervision, oversees the provision of analysis and/or recommendations on legal issues within the scope and authority of the agency. Handles complex issues. May act as a lead worker and/or supervise support staff.

The SAKI Prosecutor will work with the Statewide Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Task Force to provide prosecution support and technical assistance in preparing and prosecution of cold case homicides and sexual assaults. The SAKI prosecutor will work primarily on cases outside of Cobb, Fulton and DeKalb counties but will be available to assist on those cases if needed. The PAC prosecutor will assist with protocol development and support and will serve as the TASK Force liaison to the State Expert Committee and the Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. Additional duties will include cooperation with out–of-state prosecutions, supporting the community informed response to sexual assault, and serving as an expert trainer at any SAKI training events. Some travel required.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university AND license to practice law in the State of Georgia OR eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination OR reciprocity AND Three years of relevant legal experience OR Three years of experience required at the lower-level Attorney 3.

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience, preferably in the area of prosecution;
  • Prior experience in prosecuting Sexual Assault and Violent Crimes cases;
  • The ability to train and present on topics concerning and related to Sexual Assault and Violent Crimes;
  • Must have prior trial experience and the ability to serve as first chair in Sexual Assault, and Violent Crimes trials;
