Assistant District Attorney
The District Attorney’s Office in the Toombs Judicial Circuit has an opening for an Assistant District Attorney. The six county Toombs Circuit covers Lincoln, Wilkes, Taliaferro, Warren, Glascock and McDuffie Counties. Our area is experiencing accelerated growth due to the proximity of Fort Eisenhower and the overall expansion of cybersecurity in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Our region provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities including road, mountain and gravel cycling, boating, paddle sports, horses, golf and hunting and fishing. We are a family-oriented office looking for employees who want to make this area home.
An Assistant District Attorney in this office should expect immediate courtroom and appellate responsibilities. The following duties are normal for this position.
Minimum qualifications: Graduating law students and those who are waiting on bar results or preparing for the July bar exam are welcome to apply. However, due to PAC rules, offers to such persons would be contingent upon bar passage. All applicants must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be in good standing of another state’s bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia; and be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and based on State pay scale plus a supplement
