Assistant Solicitor General
Troup County Solicitor General’s Office has an opening for an Assistant Solicitor General. The ASG would be responsible for investigating and prosecuting misdemeanors. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing case files, ensuring that all relevant evidence has been secured, properly documenting, and organizing files,
- Interviewing witnesses,
- Analyzing case files and making charging decisions,
- Researching and writing motions and court orders, negotiating with opposing counsel,
- Representing the State in Bench or Jury trials
- And other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree and Georgia Bar license required. Interested in candidates with all levels of experience in criminal justice, legal, or generally related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must be registered as a member of the Georgia State Bar Association. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
