Western Judicial Circuit
Victim Witness Advocate
The District Attorney’s Office is currently accepting resumes/applications for a Victim Witness Advocate in the Western Circuit. This position will work closely with victims and/or witnesses of a crime to guide them through the Victim/Witness Advocacy Program.
Responsibilities include: assisting with compensation claims, victim impact statements, advising of available resources based on the Victim Bill of Rights, and guiding victims through the criminal justice process. Knowledge of the judicial process with respect to victims’ rights and case filings; and experience working with prosecutors and law enforcement are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling or a related field and two years of experience working in criminal justice, social services, crisis intervention, or trauma and violence safety assessment and planning. Superior customer service skills, positive attitude, personal responsibility and a strong sense of responsibility to the community at large is preferred. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.

Salary Range: $42,318 to $65,587 (Commensurate with Experience)
