Human Violence, Organized Crimes, and Animal Crimes: Understanding the Link- DeKalb County
The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council along with the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is excited to present Human Violence, Organized Crimes, and Animal Crimes: Understanding the Link. This training explores the link between human violence (domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual abuse), organized crime (gangs/cartels, human trafficking, illegal gambling), animal crimes (animal fighting, abuse and neglect) and how knowing animal crimes can assist law enforcement in investigations of human violence and organized crime. The instructors will address recognizing signs of animal abuse/animal fighting, search warrants, collection of evidence, handing live animal evidence, cross-reporting, charging decisions and resources for law enforcement, animal control officers and prosecutors.
We hope you can attend! This is a FREE training open to Prosecutors, Law enforcement, Animal control, Code enforcement, Dept. of Agriculture, Veterinarians, Victim advocates, Judges Shelter Directors and staff that holds live animal evidence.
7 hours of POST and/or CLE credits are offered (no other type of credit hours are available for this class).
