RICO: Beyond Gangs Webinar
In this training, we will delve into Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute, exploring its versatility beyond traditional gang-related prosecutions. Participants will learn about the core elements of RICO, including racketeering activity, enterprise, and pattern of racketeering, as well as the diverse range of predicate offenses that can constitute racketeering activity. We will also examine the broad application of RICO in various scenarios, such as corporate fraud and healthcare fraud, and discuss investigative strategies and prosecutorial considerations. Additionally, we will cover common defense tactics and strategies for addressing each element of the RICO statute. By the end of this training, legal professionals will have a deeper understanding of RICO’s nuances and be better equipped to navigate RICO litigation.
