Assistant Solicitor-General

The Cherokee County Solicitor-General’s Office has an immediate opening for an Assistant Solicitor-General. Job duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing and evaluating misdemeanor cases, filing accusations, arguing motions, conducting plea negotiations, managing pre-trial diversion cases, handling the trial of misdemeanor cases, probation revocations, and appeals.

Minimum Qualifications:  Applicant must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and a member of the Bar of the Appellate Courts of Georgia. An employment background check and drug screening will be required.  References should be available upon request.  Candidates possessing the minimum qualifications will be contacted directly if selected for an interview.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a prosecutor or with a prosecution office as an intern or extern under the Third-Year Practice Act, Law School Graduate Practice Act, or Provisional Bar Admission is preferred.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience; starting salary is $63,498.00.
