Part-Time Assistant Solicitor-General
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is looking to hire a Part-Time Assistant Solicitor position to be assigned to the Traffic Division and one position is to be assigned to the Jury Division. Some remote work will be available.
Your duties as an ASG may change day to day based on the needs of the office. These duties-may include but are not limited to:
- First Appearance, backlog cases, arraignment, drafting accusations, motions, trial, diversion review, and drafting accusations, etc.
- The position is for approx. 28 hours a week with alternating weekend shift from 8am to 12pm (Sat. & Sun).
- Perform beginning level professional legal work; and may assist in cases of routine complexity.
- The attorney will dedicate 100% of his/her efforts to improving and increasing prosecution.
- The duties will be to review each case and make the appropriate legal decisions based upon the procedural posture of the case.
- Each position will be utilized to reduce the backlog where needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree required; one year of experience in criminal justice, legal, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; and must possess and maintain licensure from the Georgia State Bar Association
