Victim Witness Advocate

The District Attorneys Office is currently accepting resumes/applications for a Victim Witness Advocate in the Douglas Circuit. This position will work closely with victims and/or witnesses of a crime to guide them through the Victim/Witness Advocacy Program.

An advocacy, coordination, and administrative position to assist victims, their families, and witnesses through the criminal justice system. The Victim Advocate performs legal support duties, coordination, outreach, and support to crime victims. Serves as liaison between the District Attorney, staff, and our victims. The incumbent must have ability to counsel, empathize and communicate clearly while performing numerous duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in related field
• Two years of experience in Prosecutor’s Office, Victims’ Assistance, or related criminal field
• Knowledge of the requirements under the Crime Victim Bill of Rights and Marsy’s Law
• Must have and maintain a valid United States Driver’s License (Class C), a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and the ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle; if assigned job duties require the use of a vehicle
• Minimum 21 years of age

Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
