Piedmont Judicial Circuit
Investigator
The District Attorney’s Office in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit has an opening for an Investigator. The following duties are normal for this position; other duties may be required and assigned:
• Conducts thorough and impartial investigations to gather evidence used in the apprehension, indictment, prosecution, and conviction of law violators.
• Works with other law enforcement agencies during investigations; locating and subpoenaing victims/witnesses, completing cases as appropriate; and participating in high-risk assignments, including raids, arrests, and undercover work.
• Conducts follow up interviews with victims, witnesses, and/or suspects.
• Reviews phone extractions and completes written reports that are used in court.
• Writes search warrants, conducts witness interviews, attends multi-disciplinary team meetings, and participates in the preparation and presentation of trial cases.
• Conducts research to find new programs that can assist the ADAs and investigators in becoming more efficient.
• Attends trainings on new technology and investigative techniques.
• Performs other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a citizen of the United States, have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and not have been convicted by any state or by federal government of any crime. Must be a current P.O.S.T certified Georgia Peace Officer. Applicants must also demonstrate efficiency with a firearm and possess a valid Georgia Driver’s license.
All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.
