Current Auto Theft Trends Training

The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council, along with the Chamblee Police Department, is excited to present Current Auto Theft Trends Training. This training highlights a concerning rise in recovered stolen vehicles with altered or fake VINs, emphasizing the inevitability of Prosecutors encountering cases stemming from these issues. The primary objective is to inform Prosecutors, Judges, and Law Enforcement Offices about emerging trends, enabling them to comprehend the nuances involved when presenting such cases and to facilitate more effective prosecution and adjudication.

Key topics include:

  • The significance of organizations like NICB and Carfax
  • Detection methods for fake or flipped VINs
  • The prevalence of cloned vehicles, and associated criminal activities
  • Mechanics of altering or flipping VINs and indicators for identifying such vehicles
  • Strategies for documenting alterations effectively

This FREE training will provide Prosecutors, Judges, and Law Enforcement Offices with the knowledge and tools necessary to handle these cases efficiently.

This training is approved for up to 8 CLE and POST Credits. No Advocate Credits are available for this training.
