Fundamentals of Prosecution-Based Victim Advocacy

There are many hats that victim advocates wear, from assisting victims during the criminal justice proceedings to being the liaison between prosecutors and the victims, and everything in between. Stepping into the role of a victim advocate is challenging but rewarding! That’s where we come in to share resources and support to assist you in your everyday tasks.

Fundamentals of Prosecution-Based Victim Advocacy is for new advocates with less than two years of experience.

Below is a list of the topics that will be covered:

  • The Many Hats We Wear
  • Early Victim Notification Process
  • Ethics, Equity, and Inclusion in Victim Services
  • Marsy’s Law / Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights
  • Managing Self-Care
  • VSSR Statistical Reporting in Tracker

This course is free to attend and will offer up to 6 hours Advocate Credit, and certificate templates will be emailed after the event has concluded. This course does not provide CLE/POST hours for attorneys or law enforcement officers. If you have already attended this training in the past, we ask that you do not register and attend again. The agenda has not changed.

*Trainings are not open to the public. Attendance is limited to staff employed by law enforcement or government agencies. Registration is open in GlueUp PAC. If you need a direct link to register, please email PAC Training.
